I Have Confirmed That It Functions Properly

You are smart to be skeptical about this one.

Our best expert here in the US has confirmed that it would be possible to modify a Seafarer, to add the running seconds . . . but he says that this would be a tricky / precise modification.

Ben, at Hodinkee, who had the watch in his hands, has confirmed that (a) the running seconds are running and (b) the tide disc is rolling over at midnight and can be advanced by the pusher (at nine o'clock).

I will confirm all this when it arrives!! Yes, I snagged this one . . . looks like a beauty, with or without the special feature.

: Jeff, are you sure that the hand is indicating the running seconds?

: If so the movement should not be the usual 721 but another
: variation on the 72 we have never seen.

: The 721 differs from 72 because it has the running second wheel
: replaced by a calendar wheel that turns in 24 hours,
: in this case it should have both wheel in the same axis...

: My opinion is that the watchmaker didn't know the watch and
: replaced the rivet with a hand fixed on the solunar disc.
