Thanks a lot for your very nice and informative reply. Much appreciated indeed. The thread you put up the link to, told the story and thereby solved my "mystery".

From your e-mail address it looks like we are countrymen. You see, a watchmaker in Drammen by the name Urmaker Per H. Stokke, who owned a very well-established and "up-market" shop, always invited our family to take a look at unreleased watches when the sales representatives from the various watchmakers visited him. Through the years we aquired quite a few watsches from him, pocket watches, wristwatches ++ . Several of the watches we bought were in some way looked upon as prototypes to test the market. I do think this is the fact with the Pasadenas with the GX mark as well; but I don't know for sure.
