Hi Andy,

My experience with Heuer vintage service center tells me:

The time estimate you have been given is correct. It does take time. And it takes money. (400-600euro for a full repair-replacements etc.)
The dials: They lume them, or if they find replacements, they replace them.
The hands: More often than not they replace them with what they believe appropriate. (look the link at the end of this post)
You can specifically ask them to NOT replace the dial or change the hands and they will do it.
In any case they return replaced parts.
