Thanks again

: It is late night, so let me give you a quick reaction: I believe
: that everything goes better if you begin your first message
: (inquiry) with the following type of information: that you have
: recently obtained this watch, that you are planning to sell it,
: and that you are seeking information so that you can describe
: the watch properly in the sale listing. With this disclosure,
: our members can make the decision whether they want to spend the
: time doing the research and writing the message, in order to
: assist a seller.

: I receive e-mail messages every single day from people who have
: come to own these old Heuers and are seeking information. For
: whatever reason, I am usually more enthusiastic to help the
: grandson who has found his grandfather's old watch, and will
: cherish it, and seeks to learn more about it. I am sometimes
: less enthusiastic about helping the dealer who has gone to a
: watch show, found something that seems to be a bargain, and now
: seeks to maximize the profit on this quick "flip". Of
: course, there are other dealers who are my friends, and I will
: spend hours helping them learn about their watches to maximize
: their profits. And I don't care whether they are selling on ebay
: or at Antiquorum . . . all the same to me.

: The point is simple -- when you provide some information about why
: you are asking questions, then readers can consider how much
: time and effort they will expend in order to assist in your
: endeavor.

: So you are welcome here; you have found a couple of interesting
: Heuers. If you will provide some additional background
: information with your question, then members of the community
: will be less likely to feel used or abused.

: Jeff
