Re: 70s were a bit different
In Response To: 70s were a bit different ()

Cultured men playing in cultured teams, both of those - I'd say Beckenbauer more so, but I have a bias as a Bayern fan!

Not keen on the Ebel watch and even less so on any association with the Arsenal (they play quite attractive football nowadays but I can't get rid of memories of George Graham, 1-0 is enough teams), but they might have tapped into a market. There is a Rangers watch too, plus Ajax, Real and Lyons ones to come.

And is the thick end of £7000 really the right price for a piece of football team merchandising? I might be a dyed-in-the-wool Bayern fan, but I can think of better ways to spend that, and better watches to spend it on!!
