Yes, I Know This Bit of Elvis Trivia . . .

and it strikes too close to the truth!!

The Pantera would start very easily (most days), but had the annoying habit of stalling out and not re-starting in traffic. Here is a verbatim transcript of one conversation with my wonderful mechanic:

  • Jeff: "Terry, we have got to do something with these Holley carbs. Three times in the last month, I have been out in the car with my wife, and the damn thing has stalled out. Twice it re-started; once we took a cab home. Any suggestions?"

  • Terry: "I'd say that you should consider keeping your wife out of the car, if that's the only time it stalls."

And I am not kidding about this conversation.

But it was wicked fast, with a beautiful sound from that engine!

A great car to love and to hate!!

Jeff

: But Jeff, did you shoot your Pantera when it wouldn't start?!
