German Heuer Catalog 1977 Pic of the 2 Modena Modells

Hi Jeff, hi Arno,
thanks for the help with the Modena, and Arno... you know my collection better than myself....

just found the Catalog from 1977... hers the pic, greetings Jasper

: I will need to go through some notes, and perhaps make some
: further inquiries, but I thought that the Modena was the very
: first version of the Monza, and that Heuer changed the name from
: Modena to Monza (a) becuase the "Modena" was not
: well-known outside of Italy (and Europe), and (b) to celebrate
: the Lauda / Ferrari championship. So this suggests that the
: Modenas would have come before the Monzas (and should be in the
: earlier catalogs).

: This is a great topic that we should hope to "nail down",
: definitively, but I just wanted to quickly add this point.

: For the record, I supplied the Modena to the TAG-Heuer archives /
: museum, having found it is the Midwest area of the U.S. Search
: the old forum messages, and you will see that we laughed about
: this one . . . thinking that the dial refinisher had made the
: mistake of writing "Modena" instead of
: "Monza"!!

: Jeff
