Indy 500 Carreras
In Response To: New to me as well ()

Hi Indy fans, over time I have seen 5 Indy Carreras, two with Date at 12 silver dial, two with date at 9 silver dial and one with date at nine new old stock black dial.
My three Carrera Indy watches have been originally coming from the US, one Carrera Date at 12 is still in the US and had a non heuer crown fitted.
One is with Nic and can be seen on his webpage.
What I have found out is that the watches were donated to Sponsors and Drivers of the Indy 500 race for promotion purposes.
I have not encounted another Autavia so far which seems eralier to me than the first Indy Carrera ca 1966.
Any more Indy Heuers out there ?

Cheers

Arno

: Hi Ron, I don't remember any Indianapolis Autavias either (but it's
: true I had not been bitten by the Autavia bug at the time!).
: And neithere are there any on Arno's book, by the way.
: It's intriguing to say the least, we've always seen 'logoed'
: Carreras but an Autavia with so strong a racetrack connection is
: a nice novelty.
: Cheers.
