Good catch. I'm a particular fan of this style of Carrera case, and I do tend to prefer them on straps to bracelets. I think the bracelet draws some of the focus away from the dial and case - that said, the Gay Freres bracelet is about as attractive a bracelet as you'll find but my personal preference is for a strap.

The gold and gold-plated models I have on plain black leather straps; for the steel cases, I have a mixture of straps, some of which I need to get round to replacing, but I like these best on a "racing" strap with small perforations (in leather, but similar to the Corfam strap they would likely have had originally, usually in black), followed by a larger "tropical" perforation.

The following photo demonstrates one of each of these:

I don't like the strap my 1153 N is on, so that one is omitted from that picture! It would look good on a black perforated strap though, in my opinion.
