Dash Timers and Clocks

Hi, I have a question about dash timers and clocks. Do they come standard with the square back plates or were those an added accessory one can purchase for an up charge, I am referring to the Super Autavias and Monte Carlo timer clocks. Also are there serial numbers on the square back plates or are those model numbers

Any help would be greatly appreciated
