Hi Philippe, Friends
In principle if you use anothers person property, like brandname, photos etc, it is a normal procedure and just fair !! to ask before. I was very fair in discribing your watch !!
Best Arno
What we have to avoid for the future is to get on every banged bad condition Autavia sold on ebay or forums a link to a new old stock piece we had in auction, I believe that is very understandable right Jeff ? This would be bad and misleading for the community, for Bonhams, TAG Heuer, Haslinger Collection and last not least for the collectors buying such pieces in good faith. Auctionhouses are all very careful in protecting their property and customers and most auctionhouses will not grant access for private use of their photographs, if these are misused eg for example showing a different watch as a link compared to the watch on offer from a private seller, they can ask for removal. Also on forums people tend to forget the hard work and money others have put in such an extensive promotion and auction and want to jump on the train to get some extra hits. There might be different agendas however mostly it seems to work quite well. I hope I could make things clear now, I prefer the gentleman approach of open information flow prior our property will be used in public. I am in direct contact with most of the buyers, which is a fantastic experience. We could win over beside the hard core Heuer collectors many car people which is great. Finally I wish you all happy Heuer hunting !
: Hi Arno,
: I never intended to offend you or Bonhams. I see on a very regular
: basis sellers and private collectors referencing Antiquorum,
: Sothebys and Christies Auctions as well, for Pateks, Rolexs,
: Omegas, etc, .... I also think this is good as it is informative
: and comparative, as well as indirectly serving as marketing for
: Bonhams, and also vintage Heuers. This is also why, unlike most
: sellers with a web site, I leave most of my high end sold
: watches appearing on my web site. However, despite all this, I
: respect and felicitate you for the work done and results
: obtained with Bonhams, and I can understand that I should have
: probably contacted you and/or Bonhams prior to using your
: auction as reference. If you wish, I can remove the watch from
: eBay and relist it without the Bonhams link.
: Let me know, I will be happy to work with you.
: Sincere regards,
: Philippe
