Jeff, another excellent topic. I am in favour of sympathetic reluming where necessary. If for example, the lume on the hands has gone, I would have it replaced and believe it would increase the value. I would be reluctant to do anything to the lume applied directly on a dial as most new applications are seldom successful. But you did mention “expert” and the last image of the Autavia is still, in my opinion, very appealing because of its creamy colour which blends nicely with the sub registers. I agree with Rich and reluming applied markets is fine but it is crucial to get the colour right. The Siffert example fails on that note and negatively affected its value IMO.
