Looking forward to learn a bit more about these "Heuer buckles specially produced for the army in some countries"....but I'm afraid it will be not so interesting at all :-)

Also knowing that Silver (rhodium is also very white) is the most white coloured metal there is when polished....(as far as "white" is a colour ofcourse).

Matte black or green, sandblasted would have been more logical if you'd ask me...
