Re: Agentinian Air Force Autavia

Eddie - I've just re-read my response, and it sounds a little harsh - sorry I didn't men it to come across like that.
Have a hunt around for a dial - make a plea on here, I'm sure someone can come up with the goods & it'll look awesome. I'll keep my eye out on UK/Europe ebay & the usual places.

Cheers
Stewart

: Thanks Eddie, yep, it's the one I thought it was.
: I could be all fluffy & nice & say it's great, but I'll be
: honest...

: (All in my opinion, of course..) the dial is pretty bad. Ex- Mil
: watches are well sought after even if they are really battered
: and have a bucketful of patina/rust/paint loss etc etc. The fact
: that the bridge is wrong, coupled with the complete redial would
: suggest to me that the original movement & dial may have
: been completely ruined, maybe caused by water damage - who
: knows. If it were bad enough to completely destroy the dial,
: then my guess is that the movement isn't original to the watch
: either, negating the watches military history.

: Yes, the date wheel is correct, being black numerals on silver.

: If I were you, I'd try to find a replacement dial. Preferably a
: battered one with plenty of patina, so should be cheap enough,
: then you would have a cool Heuer AAF.

: Cheers
