Re: FANTASTIC - Heuer Divers Collection

Thanks Peter, and a nice catch with the Heuer Super Pro, rare (very) to get it with the diver kit too.

Yes, the greening of the hour markers is quite normal for Heuer divers. Many of mine have this patina. In my experience, I've seen many that have a slightly different lume colour to the hands. Now either they are service hands, or, as I think, they used a different lume compound for the hands. I've seen this with NOS versions of early TAG divers too. (creamish hands, greenish dial)

TAG Heuer SPs tend to have creamy patina to the hour markers, and as you're have turned green, I conclude that this is because yours is pre-TAG, so they were using the same compound as earlier 1000 series divers. Personally I would leave it, it is most probably unique to the Heuer SPs. I did have the hands on one of my TAG SPs relumed, but I would not have the hour markers done. My advice is to leave it as it is. The patina is great, and reinforces the connection that this model has to Heuer as opposed to TAG Heuer versions.

PS. Diver 100 - hubba hubba! I know someone who'd really want one (James - you there?)

: Hi Stewart

WOW - VERY IMPRESSIVE COLLECTION OF DIVERS

: I am in the process of reducing my diver "collection" as
: I recently found the one and only I want - Heuer super
: professional with leather pouch.

: My 844 therefore went to Sweden and my TAG Heuer super professional
: is for sale.

: (I also have an Autavia Diver 100 - but that is for me more an
: Autavia than a Diver!)

: PS
: A few questions for you Stewart. As you can see the lumen on the
: dial has turned pale greenish whereas the hands have
: "normal" lumen. Guess hands are relumed or service
: hands. And to the questions:
: - Is it normal that they turn green?
: - Can they be cleaned?
: - Is there somebody that can relume so it is perfect?
: - Is it just nice patina????
