Re: I'm on record as disliking the nicknames

I've had a good think about this overnight, and I think the racing driver names and connections should be embraced. As long as they are valid. It's a colourful part of the world of Heuers - these legends & their cars, it's all what makes Heuer different from all the other brands.

: I half agree with Mark, also, I've never been a fan of 'Orange
: Boy', but that's my personal pinion on that particular moniker.
: It is however quite handy as a fast way to describe that
: particular model. However, names derived from race drivers are
: cool, and it reinforces the connection that Heuers have with
: motorsport. That's probably why I like 'Gulf' for the Orange
: Boy.. I know I'm being fickle!! Cases where a drivers name is
: attached to a watch for no particular reason, like Derek Bell,
: does seem wrong.

: Onto the finer areas, like cases, yes this is not right to name
: them IMHO.
: To be fair to Bullitt, I don't think he was naming the case, I
: think he was just using the phrase 'Bullitt case' as a way of
: quickly referring to the fact that it is the same configuration
: as a case he has and was the first to establish that his case
: was factory spec and not a put-together. I think there was a
: little bit of understanding 'lost in translation', and Bullitt
: seems to be getting a mildly hard time for no reason.

: Ps. IMHO, 'orange boy' should be 'orange panda' , but still prefer
: Gulf ;)
