Omega USA in NJ - Poor Service

A while back I mentioned that I had sent a Seamaster 2254.50 to Omega USA in New Jersey for warranty repair. The watch was bought as a gift and was brand new when I sent it in back in January. Yesterday I got it back after more than 10 weeks of waiting. I was absolutely appalled at the shoddy work they did:

1) They actually put the bracelet on backwards!!!!

2) They left dust particles on the dial. Right next to the letter "S" in "Seamaster" is a long thread (about as long as the "S" on the dial). How in the world did they NOT see this?

3) They actually put new scratches on my bracelet. It looks like someone didn't know how to polish it, because there are now some shiny areas on the links that certainly weren't there when it was sent in.

4) They scratched my bezel.

Other than that they did a great job.

I sent the watch right back to them with a nasty letter and sent an e-mail to Omega customer service in Switzerland. Switzerland forwarded my complaint on to the QC Manager in New Jersey this morning (very quick response to my e-mail) so she could call me as soon as my watch arrived and address my concerns. I wanted to make sure I got Switzerland involved so I wouldn't have to wait another 10 weeks for another shoddy repair job. This time I hope they'll send my watch to the front of the line and go over it with a fine tooth comb before it is returned to me.

Basically I'm going to demand a new bracelet and bezel insert. I think the bracelet has been polished to the point where it can't be repaired (the brushed sections now look polished in several areas). I suspect that the same idiot who polished it didn't even know how to put it back on properly. Further, why in the world did he polish scratches that weren't there in the first place????? The watch hadn't been worn.

I'm posting this as a warning to anyone considering using Omega USA for service. I can only hope that this time it comes back the way it should.
