Re: my service intervals with my Omegas

: Hi

: I own some Omegas with vintage inhouse
: movements and I must that they are excellent
: timekeepers.
: My 1951 seamaster was serviced 3 times in 55
: years yet it keeps very good accuracy
: My 1958 seamaster was serviced 3 times in 49
: years (haven't worn it since more than 8
: years buut it did keep great time)
: My 1973 markIV who I baught from my watchmaker
: and serviced by him, it was never serviced
: before,it is my everyday watch and it is an
: extremely accurate movement.
: My 1969 markII that I baught from another
: watchmaker was serviced twice it also kept
: great time, now it is in restoration.
: Just to prove you that older movement didn't
: too much take love care and weren't so
: fragile and subject to problems as compared
: to new movements. Quality of older movements
: was way higher than many mass produced you
: see everywhere which is why I stick by
: vintage movements. Vintage watches are
: attractively priced and offer great
: alternatives to modern watches.

: regards

That's generally not been my experience. Before, the quartz era, all my watches were "vintage". Balances/balance springs are inherently delicate things, regardless of the make.

Best regards.
