Excellent Point...

: Now that I think of it, Omega are essentially
: telling a leading retailer "You are not
: prestigious enough for us, because the only
: brands you carry are... OURS. We want people
: that look down upon us instead." A bit
: like the old Groucho saying about not being
: in a club that accepts someone like you for
: a member...

: I'm sure they'll make a boat load of money and
: gain prestige by increasing prices; it's
: worked for the firm they want to eventually
: see as their competition, after all. Bah!

In fact, at the conclusion of the meeting, when my AD knew that the situation was hopeless, the head of the Swatch Group said to him, "I hope we'll continue to thrive as partners with our other brands." My AD replied, "Why, so you can kick me to the curb when you decide to take them upscale, too?".

My AD carries FOUR other Swatch Group brands - Tissot, Rado, Longines, and Hamilton, but he just isn't good enough for Omega anymore.

Anyway, I do want to personally thank everyone for your posts and for all of the e-mails I've received today. Your support for my AD has truly been overwhelming.
