Remember that our desires and Omega's goals are not even remotely similar. The Swatch group is in business to make a profit- and they have done so reasonably well. I doubt that if everyone who posts on the various Omega forums never bought
anothernew Omega that Omega would notice(well, may be Keith and John would get their attention), And having their own retail shops is certainly a wise move profit-wise. As for Omega emulating Rolex- look at production figures! I couldn't blame them for wanting some of that pie. I do agree that the service and reliability issues will hurt Omega more than dropping a number of AD's.
Mainly I wanted to say that I did purchase a watch from this AD and found it to be a very pleasant way to buy a watch. I also purchased 1 watch from Keiths AD - both purchases were made after dealing with my local Rolex AD,and I was treated just as well by the 2 men on the phone as the local guy- just charged alot less! I fear the handwriting on the wall says "Higher prices, Lower quality"
