Re: Flaw in radial graining effect?

John,

Thanks for the reply. I've just read my initial post, and I apologize. The "radial graining effect" was refering to the silver dial, not the crystal.

I too agree that the approach is inexcusable. I have heard backand the response was: (quote)

"Under the circumstances, in view of your dissatisfaction I have arranged that a complete replacement watch be ordered from our Head Office to be supplied as an exchange item. May I therefore kindly request that you return the original guarantee card information cards supplied together with your original model for my personal attention.

I must also take this opportunity to advise, however, having examined the original dial, that the 'mark' to which you refer, which almost underlines the 'Speedmaster' wording is not a scratch or flaw but has occurred during the manufacturing process and us part of the radial
graining effect. In fact, such markings are present in numerous additional points on the dial. As such, these will almost certainly also be present on the dial of the new model.... "

I find this difficult to believe, as ther was only ONE scratch on the face. Do you think that Eastleigh agreeing to exchange the item is in part a "silent sign" of them screwing this up? I didn't pay for a £1500 watch to be opened up at least 3 times within the first few weeks of owning it!

Your opinions on their course of action would be interesting, indeed the views of other veterans/newbies out there.

Thanks again

Nafees
