That is just perfect Jeff. You are right, the more I think about the more clear it is that he actually wrote the song about this watch:

The "kiss the sky" aspect is obviously a reference to the UV/sunlight driven fading. It's so obvious now I don't know why I didnt see it before.

Also I find it a bit of a coincidence that this record was issued on a 33 rpm LP which is obviously a reference to Tool 33.

It is all making sense now.

PS...actually I am not so sure it is faded because the white of the lettering is pretty bright - could that be the case if faded? I agree the Daytonas go weird, but in that case does the white stay white or fade?
