Glad to have you on board Ty.
As many of us will be able to tell you a quick glance at this forum and its associated OTD website can easily lead to hours of reading/researching and onto a lifetime of addiction where it is not possible to go online without stopping by this forum to check out the latest in whats going on.

In our private correspondance i have explained the significance & rarity of this watch but i'm certain all the other readers will appreciate seeing your unrestored treasure and help you find a quality watchmaker to deal with this beauty. I can also inform you that amongst these rare model Autavia's only a few have the fully lumed hand yours has & that the few that have had these hands have been focused into an extremely small serial number range which your watch complies with.
I'll email you tomorrow to give you some leads on the servicing of this watch.
Cheers - Darren

: Hello, I have just signed up for the site after being referred here
: by Darren.

: I have recently found an Autavia and would like to learn more about
: it and have it repaired to working order. I think this may be
: the correct place for this!

: My story:
: My great-grandfather was a hobby-watchmaker/clockmaker and
: collector. He passed away in 81 and the watch portion of his
: collection/hobby has been boxed up for the past 30 years. Having
: in interest in watches, I recently started going through the
: boxes and benches and turned up some things that caught my eye
: and have been trying to learn more about them. One that caught
: my eye was this Heuer Autavia. Right now it is partially
: disassembled, but all parts seem to present except for the
: crystal. I would like to have it put back together, running, and
: wearable.

: Darren has given me a lot of good info so far, and I hope to get in
: touch with a watchmaker familiar with this watch to have it
: re-assembled/repaired. Any information would be greatly
: appreciated.
