Yes, We Need the Serial Number
In Response To: Re: An Interesting Autavia ()

Sometimes we miss the most obvious things, but Paul has put us on the right track -- give us the serial number between the lugs, and we can determine which case it is (and which bezel you need for it). We can tell the 1st execution case versus the 2nd execution case with some difficult measurements, but having the serial number will be a much easier approach.

My guess is that the hands are not original, as I would be expecting dauphine, but if Mark is correct in drawing the Carrera connection, then maybe these are the original hands.

: Hi David - It was very exciting to see an orginal watch with this
: dial come to our attention. Like an archelogical find of
: significance. Having recently discussed this watch with other
: forum members, we pondered two main issues:

: 1. Case - 1st or 2nd execution screw back case (with H or MH bezel)
: 2. Hands - 1st execution Dauphine/sword hands or straight steel
: hands.

: The picture you show may clear up the hands question (they look
: original to me) and in fact the dimension of the bezel may also,
: although not conclusive at this stage, confirm that it is the
: 2nd execution case.
: David - if you can confirm the originality of the hands and get a
: serial number off the case we can solve this mystery once and
: for all.
: I am rushing so will post some mock-up pics I did this evening.
: regards
: Paul
