Re: Is that the reply?
In Response To: Is that the reply? ()

1)Yeah, any question is a legit question. I'm not
sure "Is that the question" has any condescending tone in it. No?

2)"Is that the reply?", there is no
condescending tone in it either. If you feel
in anyway I offended you, I'm sorry. My
reply is actually discussing watch related
issues. Your reply is your feeling against
my reply, if I read correctly. Sounded like
a judge.

3)My reply was: "A watch is just a watch. People pay extra get the better styling, workmanship and brand name prestige, that's about it for luxury
watches."

Explaination: In terms of keeping time, water
resistance, and other functional aspects of
a time piece, Rolex/Omega/etc prestigeous brands are not significantly better than lesser brands. It's not hard to find much less expensive watches that keep better time, more robust than expensive ones. A watch is really just a watch.

4)Then, why people choose to buy Rolex/Omega?
It's about styling (looks), workmanship
(quality, including bracelets), and brand
name prestige. So this can be considered
"attack" to Omega/Rolex?

5)Back to the crown issue. As long as the watch
is rated at 300m (or certain meters), there
is not much difference what type of
technology (if we can call it technology)
was used. It's really cheap and simple to
buy/make any type of crown. No? Next time, we need to compare who's polish cloth is better, like that has anything to with the watch itself.

1) Yes, it has a condescending tone for me.
2) Because you think you know more things about watches than other people, I don't think so.
3) A watch is not just a watch. An invita, a sinn, a tag will barely come to the toe of a rolex or an omega. Rolex and Omega are often quoted as references not the case of many other brands. I can't compare a marathon sar to a sea dweller or plo prof. The marathon is a middle of the range watch powered by an eta 2824-2
4)People buy Omega/Rolex because they are the references in their field.
5)To make a good type of crown, it takes time and costs money so the crown is very important itself, the best crown was designed by rolex and it is still the best.
