Re: more thaughts and my final conclusion

Dear Felix

The 2892-a2 was and is used by firms who aren't able to build their own movements and who want a movement taht is easily cosc certifiable. The fact that it comes from eterna doesn't make it more glorious because Eterna never ranked as the same level than Omega. Very good quality no but good quality yes, I can't compare a 120-250$ movement to a 100% inhouse or very high grade lemania 8815/piguet 1150 movement.
The etachron regulating winding system is no match to triovis, swan neck or microstella adjusting system.
No the older 100x-101x-102x being better than the 1120 and eventually 2500 are not a myth because they didn't and don't need a service every 5-8 years but can be serviced longer over 10-15 years interval.
Unlike etas the jeweled pivot system of rolex is less subject and prone to unscrewing and better supports highly violent shocks.
Was Eta comparable to Lemania or Piguet in terms of prestige and quality of manufacture? Not really

regards

georges
