And some more comments

: I thought this was a forum to discusses our experiences with Omega.

Umm, yes, I guess so, good or bad.

: The original post reflects the same problems and complaints that
: I have experienced over the last 10 years or more. I purposely
: did not mention any other brand because it is an Omega Forum. My
: friend a long time watchmaker and the Northeast service facility
: for Omega (The Watchmaker in Stoneham Massachusetts) still
: services Omega but has discontinued selling the product because
: of poor quality, terrible customer service as well as horrible
: parts availability.

Poor quality? Then nearly every Swiss watch must experience the same problems because the movements used by Omega are readily used by most all other watch brands in the industry, specifically the ETA 2892 and Valjoux 7750 variants. And horrible parts availability?? What the heck? They routinely refurbish watches over 50 years old, with ORIGINAL parts, not NOS mind you, original. And because Swatch owns ETA and Omega, I can hardly believe that parts availability is a problem, but hey, what the heck do I know, im not a watchmaker.

I have had 5 new watches and spent over
: $1400.00 repairing them. All for problems that should never
: occur on a watch never mine watches costing over $2000.00. I
: have tried every road with Omega to resolve these issues and
: after nothing but frustration gave up. Sorry if my experience
: with Omega has been terrible but if you read a good amount of
: posts, you don't see too many expressing good things about
: Omega.

I can tell you, I have read a tremendous amount of posts in 5 years and see hundreds of posts daily expressing good things about Omega. Service problems, yes, but many, many posts of amazing restorations of 50+ year old watches.

And maybe you can show me where the forum rules state you
: must be a happy Omega customer to participate here.

I never said anything about you not participating, in fact I said I respect your right to criticize Omega for your experiences. I just questioned why you want to participate in a watch forum to talk about watches that you have such contempt for.

I just
: wanted to let the original poster know he was not alone with
: trying to deal with people who could care less about you after
: the sale.

No problem with your right to do so.

And yes I still would never purchase another Omega,
: and I will continue to read this forum, sorry if it bothers you.

Fair enough, and I will continue to question your reason for doing so, and sorry also if it bothers you. And fwiw, negative comments towards Omega don't bother me as much as the delivery. I have a lot of respect for the time and effort that a few individuals have selflessly dedicated to keep this forum going, and outright trashing of the brand demeans all the time they have committed to the Brand. Obviously Omega is doing something right or there would not be people willing to make this sacrifice, nor would there be multiple other forums specifically dedicated to Omega.

Oh, and what are these other brands whose virtues you hold in such high esteem? Just curious. To each his own. Hand shake offered and we agree to disagree.
