I Have No Clue What This is All About . . .

. . . but it all sounds very interesting. Just say the word, and we can create a discussion forum for those who enjoy vintage chronographs and football (soccer). logo package to be derived from the GameMaster, of course. [just kidding about this, I think.]

So what's the current view of how the game is being played here in the U.S.? Is our soccer still second-rate, in the eyes of the rest of the world or are we making any progress?

: It's not really my place to talk about Dutch football, except that
: I watched Dennis Bergkamp for 10 years (and Marc Overmars for a
: few), but would you agree it is particularly bad for Hiddink,
: being Dutch, as the tradition for the Dutch team is generally a
: few beautiful glorious wins, punctuated by loses to more
: pragmatic teams and some self destructive infighting. Certainly
: if you want defensive efficiency and winning without playing,
: you need to look over the border to the old enemy, Germany.
: Hiddink was certainly not following the tradition of Cruyff,
: Rep, Van Basten and Bergkamp last night! Actually for the last
: twenty years there has been a big Dutch influence for Barca, but
: now I guess there is none.

: Let's hope barca can win the final!
