Autavia Sold at Approx. $57,800

Unofficial sources are reporting that this Autavia (Lot 144 in today's Watches of Knightsbridge sale) hammered at £36,000 ($47,782). Add the 21 percent buyer's premium, and we end up at $57,800.

Some observers had expected higher prices. I have to wonder how this one would have done had it not been (a) the middle of the Summer, (b) Watches of Knightsbridge, rather than a house like Christie's, and (c) a few days after the Brexit vote.
