: today's Watches of Knightsbridge sale) hammered at £36,000
: ($47,782). Add the 21 percent buyer's premium, and we end up at
: $57,800.

: Some observers had expected higher prices. I have to wonder how
: this one would have done had it not been (a) the middle of the
: Summer, (b) Watches of Knightsbridge, rather than a house like
: Christie's, and (c) a few days after the Brexit vote.
