Dear Felix
It is not because you live in Switzerland that the problems are not occuring.
The quality control problems are mainly concerning the 33xx which are the least reliable and least robust chrono movements ever used by Omega due to their failure rate also add to this the problem of the sudden stop with the 1120.
What goes about movements I know some very experienced watchmakers including the rolex master watchmaker of Rolex France and some people who worked at cosc as well as some independants who are often referred and used for complex watch restorations and watch servicings.
None of these considerated Omega eta based calibres as good as the inhouse models for these reasons:
-the 2892-a2 was never regarded as an exceptional or prestigious quality movement since its introduction since 1975
-its etachron regulating system isn't the best regulating system
-its ball bearing system isn't better than the samuel pellaton winding system and the jeweled pivot system found in the rolex calibres and older inhouse movements
-its build quality can't match the older cal 100x-101x-102x calibres
check the link I enclosed here and you will see what are prestigious movements
best regards and have a great day
regards
georges
