the true manufactures and some thoughts
In Response To: Re: manufacture vs assembleur ()

Hi

Inhouse movements means movements conceived integrally by the firms itself and not assembled by the help or built by a subcontractor in this case Eta. Omega also uses Piguet and Lemania ebauches/calibres.In the past before 1984 and hayek, Omega was a 100% manufacture.
The true manufactures are the following ones:
-Rolex
-Seiko
-Zenith
-Jaeger Le Couktre
-Speake Marin
-Parmigiani Fleurier with its Vaucher inhouse manufacture
-Philippe Dufour
-De Bethune
-Glasshütte Original
-Union Glasshütte
-Lange und Söhne
Of course many are out of our price range, but the term manufacture is used wrongly bu Breitling who was never a manufacture as well as by Panerai.
With manufactures you always pay a premium but behind this premium in the biggest majority of the case there is an outstanding customer service.
Hope it helps.

regards

georges
