: The Other Sam

Hello Other Sam,

Yes, Omega sells a lot more watches than Rolex.

The amount of time that takes to properly check any automatic watch , not just Omega, is the amount of power resrve (36 to 52 hours) plus the recommended amount of time that takes to auto-wind the watch from zero to full (4 to 6 Hours). Add 1 to 2 hours for water testing and you have from 1 1/2 to 3 days. The rate of accuracy and amplitude are tested fully wound AND after 24 hours. Even if the watch is keeping good time after 24 hours, if the amplitude is not correct it has to be adjusted again and the test has to start again.
